6AM wake up call!

For the past 2 days, Grace has been deciding to wake up at 6AM. She nurses and then I attempt to put her to sleep. She will fall asleep and after 10 minutes of being in the crib, she is awake. I let her coo and play until she gets fussy because I want to see if she will put herself back to sleep! I am guessing that she has playtime on her mind! She plays for about an hour and a half then goes back to sleep!

5 Months tomorrow

It has been a long time since I have attempted to write a blog. The other entries were all about planning the wedding, the wedding, and then the honeymoon. Needless to say, it has been over a year and I wanted to try again.
The most amazing thing happened to me on August 15th of 2010. Grace Catherine was born at 6:31pm, weighing 7 pounds 3 ounces, 22 inches long. She had a full head of black hair and was gorgeous.

Now, it is 5 months later and I fall more in love every day. To be honest, motherhood is one of the hardest things I have even encountered BUT is the most rewarding. There are the awesome days of happy baby all day long with naps and lots of playtime. Then there are the fussy, pissy baby days where playtime is scattered and holding her is the number one priority. There are less of the latter and more of the first these days. Some days seem longer than others and some go by in the blink of an eye. All in all, I would not trade any of them for the world.

I am still breastfeeding and am so proud that I have made it to 5 months. I am going to give her all I can. If I make it past a year, I am all for it. If something happens and I can't, then I gave her all I had. That is something I have to learn to accept!

I have always been an overachiever who has a hard time asking for help in any area- work and school. I took the same stance on motherhood. That changed very quickly. I realized that it is not a bad thing to ask for help! If you need it, ask for it. I have a wonderful group of people who are always willing to lend a hand and that makes a world of difference! If I never said THANK YOU, I apologize!

Hopefully, I will be able to keep up on updating this and all the wonderful things Grace is doing, even if it is a blurb!
